Sunday night

So I feel as I should post. it's been a few days and I feel like I might be letting down the few people that read this... so here you go.

Today was my first day off from the new job the next day off I get is NEXT sunday after working a 10 hour shift on the Grand Opening weekend of TCS... I think it's going to be a suckie day next saturday... but i'll get thru it i'm sure but i would still like a day off before then. and today isn't really a day off as i've been rendering all day.. and still need to render a shit load more tonight. so my day off is in front of the computer..... oh well... i'm just bitching...

I have still not gone out to buy food.. but tonight i was able to eat some real-ish home made food. I had rice, black bean, and tomato's and iced tea.... better then the other night... but now i have a mess to clean up....

well i need to get back to work if i'm going to get any sleep tonight.

New Food Low

So living the way I am at the moment has kind of sent me back to not buying food all that often. This evening I had a new food low...

Diner: 1 beer & 3 dill pickles dipped in light mayonnaise.... It's all I have that is not spoiled.. and it was pretty tasty.

Elfa

So yesterday I had a full day of training at TCS... and the first 4 hours was all about Elfa.. it turns out that by the time the store opens i will have had 20 hours of Elfa training and will be a certified space planner... that's cool... here is a link to see what Elfa is... http://www.containerstore.com/browse/index.jhtml?CATID=68558

But what is really is, is a great shelving system that can be used in so many ways... I have to say.. I think it's pretty cool.. All last night all i could think about was ripping out the shitty shelves that the builder put into all the closets inthis house and how i'm going to replace them with Elfa one room at a time... i don't think i'm going to get a pay check for about a year from the TCS but I know that my house WILL BE ORGANIZED at last!!!

First Week on the New Job

Well I made it thru the first week at my new job.. I unloaded 4 semi's in the last 3 days.. 2 just today.. i'm so SOAR!!!!!!! but it was kind of fun.... I'm not that great at the register but i'm learning.

Dogs are driving me NUTZ!!!!!! they all keep running around and barking and pissing me off.... Sharona and Sammy had to take a time out for about 45 minutes.. 10 of which Sharona did not bark.... so we go outside for the last potty break of the night and I hear everyone elses dog in the neighberhood getting yelled and they are all barking... and I think "must be a full moon" and I look up and it's a full moon.... f---ing dogs...

all i want to do is read the new Harry Potter book... and be cool as it's really hot here in portland... I think I like the cold better.. I wore shorts today.. I never wear shorts....

first day of work and i'm bitching already

so i'm starting my new job today... on a sunday.. and it's an 8 hour day with an hour lunch so it keeps me from home for like 10 hours if you include the drive... we have to wear dress code which is.. a TCS (the container store) tee shirt and jeans.. well the jean are cool but I'm not so big on the tee shirt.. first off it's a little big... i hate that.. second we have to TUCK them in.. I am NOT a tucker... and I HATE the little big tee shirt tucked in look.. doesn't go with my style... not that I have that much style.. but still it doesn't go...

the only good part of today other then getting paid to sit on my ass all day (i hope) is that I'm going to try to run over to the book store during one of my breaks and get the new Harry Potter book..... i'm a dork but what are you going to do.... must read new harry potter... maybe i'll start reading it while they are trying to brainwash me in to being a good little minion.....

I am looking forward to the job.. i'm so totally going to deck out my house... it's going to be awesome!!!!

FIRE!

So last night I'm trying to get to sleep and I hear a semi in the ally. I am half asleep and it's about 12.30 so my brain says "wow it's kind of late for the brewery to be getting a delivery." so I open my eyes and there are red, white and blue lights flashing on my ceiling.. I think.. Maybe I should get up and see what is up.... And then I think.. Well maybe I don't want to see... And then I smell smoke. So I get up and look out the window and the dumpster that is behind the brewery is on FIRE!!!! Shooting flames up into the air... And the "semi" is a fire truck.... It took about 15 minutes to get the fire out... At one point it flared up again and all the firemen were not looking and I was like UMMMM it's still on fire guys.. But they did a good job putting it out... I don't know if someone set it.. Or if the brewery people were stupid and somehow set it... I'm just glad that someone called the fire department as my car was parked like 10 feet from the fire.. I still need to go outside and poke around a little.. But when I was watching last night nothing seemed like it was out of control. It took me about 5 minutes to realize I should probably close my window that had the box fan in it as it was sucking the smoke into my bedroom.....

But all is fine this morning and the dogs didn't even freak out about the noise in the ally.


UPDATE: So I talked to one of the bar tenders today. She said that the brewery had set it but not realized it until the fire department showed up. I guess what they do most nights is put the coals from the BBQ in a metal bucket to cool off and then throw them away the next day... Someone had the bright idea to just throw them away before they were cool last night.. So it started the dumpster on fire.. Lesson learned.... I hope....

Monk is in LOVE

So Monk has found another woman that I think he LOVES more then me.. today Kim from Waggin Wagon www.wagginwagon.com came over to meet the dogs as she's going to take care of them for me when I have to work full days.... Kim is GREAT and Monk was falling over himself to impress her... he sat in her lap and licked her face, then we went outside and he tired to impress her with how well he plays fetch... he was doing everything in his doggie power to relay to her that she had just found the man (and by man I mean dog) that was going to change her life furever.... pun intended...

I've never seen that dog act that way.. it was so cut.. annoying but cute.. he better walk well for her if he really wants to impress her...

I think he was dreaming about her this evening.. he was wagging his tail really hard in his sleep....

Sharona likes to Sleep in now

She Told me so.... we just all got up, well for the second time... The first time we got up was 5:30 so they could go potty and then have their breakfest. But we went back to bed... I sleep a lot more in Portland then I did in San Diego... Even before matt and i met I would get up early in the morning... I wonder what it is about Portland that makes people so sleep.. Well the weather... abut in college we had a sofa that the devil lived in and if you sat on that sofa you had to take a nap... maybe the devil just lives in Portland also... I'm guessing there are people here in portland that get up early to go to work and such.. but i've not see it very much. guess that will change when I have to do my 7am shifts at my new job.. I only have 6 of them I think..

I'm going to the mall today.... i need to buy some pants....

what to do

so i'm going to start a new job... Joy.. I'm going to be working retail for The Container Store www.containerstore.com It should be okay.. it's only like 17 hours a week once they are open.. but they are opening a new store and I have 4 full days that they have scheduled with me for training... On the weekend... when doggie day care opens at 10.. and I have to be at work at 8... plus day care is like 75 bucks for the pins... and i'm not making that much.... Maybe I'll try letting them run free in the downstairs area of the house... guess I should do a test this week.. see how much they distroy...

I'll see if I can get Kim from Waggin' Wagon http://wagginwagon.com/ to stop in and take them outside and walk Monk... I think this is going to be the best option.... I can get a good deal at Lexi Dog http://www.lexidog.com/ so maybe once A week I'll take the pins in to play and tire them out.... I need to work... it's crazy that i'm going to be doing retail.. part of me is pissed because I know that the amount of $ i'm going to make in a month at the Container Store is what I would make doing 4 renderings or working 3 days on site............ But i think that working retail is going to be good for me.. I'm going to meet people, and i get a great employee discount which will be good as i'm going to stock our new house well.... and will most likely spend more then I make.... I think if I can find some freelance work on top of this I'll be okay... I just hate knowing the other side.......

Early Morning

So as is the custom for the 4th of july I got to go on a trip to the emergency animal Clinic last night. Every thing is fine but this is the story behind it all...

Monk has been licking himself a lot in the boy area.... and it's been kind of red and gooey.. He's an obsessive licker so once he starts, it takes a lot to get him to stop..

I was planning on bringing him into the vet today to have it looked at.. didn't want to pay the emergency prices.... But I woke up last night at 3:30 am and he was panting really hard and licking his lips.. so i took him outside and he threw up... and then started eating grass... I got him to drink some water but all he wanted to do was eat grass.. So after about 30 minutes I thought it would be better for both of us to go to the vet... He seemed like he was in a lot of pain and I would rather be sure then sorry.... He's never acted like this before so I wasn't sure what was going on. And as it turns out they couldn't find any thing wrong with him except for a little cut on tip of his boy part...Not the lipstick.. The part that covers it.. :) sorry I don't know the right terms..

So at least it's not infected which is what I thought was wrong....

The emergency vet here is great by the way... Much nicer then in SD... And a lot cheaper... I think the cost was the same as if I would have taken him to the vet today anyway....

so the part that sucks is that I wanted to sleep in.. And sharona didn't want me to sleep in.... Ah sharona.. if you were not so cute I would put you in the microwave...

I have dogs

After a very long day of flying back to Portland from tampa. (i got up at 3am portland time and started back with a bad sunburn.) I still have the sun burn.. it has been cemented in my mind and body I will never have children.. NEVER..... Can you tell I had a bad flight involving childern. I like my friends kids.. i like my neice... other then that.... i don't want to be around kids.... I really don't like them at all... I like my dogs... dogs are loud and as painfull as kids.. but I can lock the dogs in their crates and go out for a beer... can't do that with kids...

I'm home now.. have the dogs, bathed the dogs because they smelled like hell.... i'm drinking beer and i'm hoping to be asleep my 10... maybe sooner... i'll clean up the bathroom from giving the dogs baths tomorrow..
